Big Thunder Slot - Ainsworth

Do you hear the drums echoing tonight? With Ainsworth’s Big Thunder, you are going to be blessing the rains down in Africa! This five-reel, three-row video slot machine has up to 30 active pay lines and four bonus jackpots that will make you scream like Tarzan in the middle of the jungle. It may not have background music, and its sound effects might be dull and sub-par, but you can always play Africa by Toto on your fave music streaming app while you play the game!

The Big Thunder Logo acts as the scatter in the game, and you will surely want to see it land often. You see, this little icon will give you the highest symbol payout (up to x100 your total bet!) And you don’t have to worry if they don’t land on a pay line, because they pay anywhere they land. When you get three or more of them, the bonus reels feature activates and you have fifteen extra spins for free. In this bonus reels game, two Multiplier symbols (x3 and x5) may appear. If that’s the case, all wins for that spin multiply for the corresponding figure.

The rest of the symbols are inspired in African animals, geography and culture. A mighty Gorilla is the Wild, which substitutes for all the symbols except the Scatter. Then, we have the paying symbols, which are divided into high and low. The highest ones are the Snake, the Shield, the Mask, the Waterfall, and the Drum. On the other hand, the lowest ones are conventional slot symbols, such as the King, the Jack, the Queen, numbers 10 and 9, and the Ace.

As we mentioned earlier, you can hit four bonus jackpots: Major, Maxi, Mini and Minor. You can find them on the top part of the slot, along with their prize values. To win the prize you need a King Strike Bonus to land on the bonus bet reel on the right of slot machine and to get a five of a kind win on the game. Which one you get depends on which five of a kind combination you had.

A five of a kind combination with the high value symbols win you the Major Bonus Jackpot. If your five of a kind combination consists of the low value symbols, then you win the Maxi Bonus Jackpot. These are two are the biggest jackpots! Now, if you get a five of a kind combination with the help of a Wild, your prize will be the Minor Bonus Jackpot (if your symbols were the high value ones) or a Mini Bonus Jackpot (when you got a winning combination with low value symbols).

On the whole, Ainsworth’s Big Thunder is a good online slot machine. The game mechanics are easy to understand, and the pay lines and bet amounts can be adjusted at will. It’s theoretical RTP rate is kind of low compared to slots from other providers, but similar to other Ainsworth’s machines. You can try it at least once and see how you like it!
