Divine Fortune Black Slot - Netent

Some players still remember the very warm welcome Divine Fortune received when it launched in 2017, thanks in particular to its captivating mythological atmosphere and a progressive jackpot that left a strong impression. That commercial success even earned it a Megaways sequel, although that one dropped the progressive jackpots in favour of fixed ones. Now the NetEnt studio, today owned by Evolution, is unveiling a third instalment: the Divine Fortune Black slot, released in May 2025. This new slot keeps many of the signature elements of the earlier episodes while introducing a few notable differences.

In Divine Fortune Black, Evolution takes a more mysterious and elegant approach to the mythological theme. The backdrop no longer shows marble statues as before, but a background plunged into total darkness, as if we were meant to simply imagine what is going on behind the reels. Are there ancient creatures hidden in the gloom? Wins in the game will suddenly light up those shadowy areas. This deliberately minimalist touch creates an unsettling, slightly hypnotic atmosphere, but an attractive one too, thanks to a soundtrack made up of mythological chants and suspenseful sound effects added to give it depth.

Technically, Divine Fortune Black uses a setup similar to the original title, with 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines. Volatility has been raised, however, while the RTP now stands at 96.08%. As for the max win potential, it reaches 20,000x the bet, a solid figure overall.

You can bet between 0.20 and 24 per spin to start taking on the creatures of Greek mythology, but note that an Elevate option is also available to activate various extras, including Scatter Hunt, which increases your chances of winning Free Spins in exchange for an additional stake of 50% of your bet.

Regular wins come from lining up 3, 4 or 5 identical symbols from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. The A, K and Q symbols can pay between 0.40x and 1.50x the bet, while the eagle, the Minotaur, the lion and Medusa can pay between 0.50x and 5x the bet. A Wild, represented by the horse Pegasus, can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game, and expanded during the Free Spins (Divine Spins). This symbol can substitute for all others except the special symbols.

Plenty more happens on the reels of Divine Fortune Black to improve your chances of winning. This includes Cash Prize and Jackpot collection, Respins and expanding symbols, as well as a choice of two Free Spins rounds and bonus buy options.

Cash Prize & Jackpot Collection
Cash Prize symbols with random values between 1x and 20x the bet can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game, as a single type in the Divine Spins, and anywhere during the Fortune Spins. They can also be Minor, Major or Mega Jackpot symbols, with prizes equal to 25x, 250x or 2,500x the total bet.

Fortune Collector symbols can appear on reels 1 and 5 in the base game and in the Divine Spins, and anywhere during the Fortune Spins. If Cash Prize or Jackpot symbols and at least one Fortune Collector symbol appear on the reels, the values of the symbols are collected by the Fortune Collector.

The total value of the Cash Prizes and Jackpots is added to the winnings of the spin.

Re-Spins & Expanding Symbols
A respin can be triggered when a Wild, a Cash Prize or a Jackpot appears in the base game. These symbols stay on screen, moving down one position on each spin. If a matching symbol lands behind another in the base game or in the Divine Spins, it expands, unless it is blocked by another special symbol. Expanded symbols also appear on each additional spin. The additional spins end when there are no Wilds, Cash Prizes or Jackpots left.

Free Spins
Win access to the Divine Spins or Fortune Spins by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols on the grid.

Divine Spins
You receive 5, 8 or 12 Free Spins for 3, 4 or 5 Scatters respectively. Here, Wilds, Cash Prizes and Jackpots expand and trigger respins, shifting each time. If a Wild lands behind a prize symbol, or the other way round, it keeps expanding. The Fortune Collector collects all prizes after expansion, and respins pause the Free Spins counter.

Fortune Spins
You receive 3 Free Spins plus 0 to 2 mystery symbols with this option. Here, the reels hold only special symbols or blanks, and you need to land special symbols to reset the counter to 3. Symbols stay on the grid and their values are added to the total win of each spin. Fortune Collectors gather the visible prizes before the next spin, and the bonus ends when there are no respins left or when the grid is full. Mystery symbols reveal a random Minor, Major or Mega jackpot, as does filling a row with symbols.

Elevate Feature
This feature lets you buy access to the various features of Divine Fortune Black:

- For 1.50x the bet, you increase your chances of triggering the Free Spins with Scatter Hunt.

- For 10x the bet, you allow Fortune Collectors to win respins and move down the reels while expanding when they land behind another Fortune Collector.

- For 50x the bet, buy access to the Divine Spins.

- For 100x the bet, buy access to the Fortune Spins.

Up to 20,000x the bet to be won
There are many similarities with the earlier Divine Fortune titles, but a few differences stand out in Divine Fortune Black. First, the darker, more mysterious graphics. Then the absence of the progressive jackpot, replaced by fixed jackpots. Beyond that, you can go after the game's biggest reward through two bonuses, Fortune Spins and Divine Spins, both of which offer good opportunities to land the top prize.
